Don't listen to George S. MacBooks are simply amazing. They are virtually prone to viruses, very fast and light. You can even install Windows XP on it! It has great battery life, great desgin. And iLife (GarageBand, iTunes, iPhoto etc.) is soooooo good!
Great customer service (you probably won't need it), and you won't have to worry about scanning your computer for viruses and spyware. Also, i forgot to mention, there is a built-in iSight camera (webcam)

My thoughts on a Macbook? I wish I had one! I just started using a computer 8 months ago and started with an Apple PowerBook running Mac OS X 10.4 and at first it was a little confusing, being new to computers and all. I found that using Mac OS X was and is very easy to learn. I've read here and there that some PC users saying that it's hard to use a Mac. It's only because it's a different OS than Windows and some people get discouraged because of that fact that they try to use Mac with a Windows frame of mind. I've also read that most PC users that switched and learned how to use Mac OS X say that they will never ever use a PC again. I suggest you visit an Apple store and try out a Mac before buying one, just in case you might be one of the "discouraged" ones. But If you do get a Mac, I know you won't be sorry you bought one and am pretty sure you won't go back to using a PC.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. It's really up to you whatever you prefer. You will be the one using. But don't you think it's would be better to use the ones you are familiar with. I do not understand why Dynamic Duo is attacking George S. He just gave his opinion. Can't he take criticism. I use an Apple Mac Mini but does not go around attacking PC users. To each his own. Geeeeesssshhhh! Respect one another please. George S. Is just stating his experience.

Hey! My suggestion is don't/ Apple looks great and have all the bells and whistle but I wouldn't buy it. I have been a PC user all my life and my stupid boss who believe in Apple gave me an ibook. I had so much difficulties in using it. Let me site some example, Apple mouse does not have a right click function. I do a lot of right click operation and it is just hard to adjust. Next, the tiger OS is for me like an exotic foreign language. I'm not stupid but the guys who program this probably lived in Mars. Finally, there are very few software which runs in Apple and they are rather hard to find. They say Apple have no virus. Sure... they are so few that no one bothers to make a virus for them. No offense to Apple. I still think their product is good but they are not a defacto standard and never will be. Good luck.

Well, I love my MacBook and I have used many different computers. Had a G3 0S9.2.2 iMac for almost 6 years too. I would not use anything else. They are very easy to use, you have less issues with internet problems and the techs are very good. I know people who work at the headquarters and they stand by their product. With my Mac I got a free iPod and HP scanner/printer/copier! Now that's a deal.

BTW, how are you feeling? Are you still in the hospial?
