Yes unfortunately racism still exists towards every race whether it be Asian, Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, and everything else.
People fear the unfamiliar. Unfortunately our society has made seem "okay" to make excuses for hatred.
What I feel is most unfortunate is the fact that the people who are prejudice against others just because someone was prejudice against them for some reason or another. People cannot seem to grasp the concept which we all learned (hopefully) as a child; two wrongs don't make a right. Meaning being prejudge against one race because someone has been prejudge about your preference or race is not right.
In cases of homosexuality I believe it is the same way. Back in the 80s there was a debate about bi-racial couples marrying and just being together and now it's just the same but two people of the same gender. It's sad but I hope like all other things it will pass. There is too much hate in this world and I feel it is truly effecting our country as a whole.

Even though black people are more accepted than gays, gay people are getting accepted more at a faster rate. For example, the media is talking about gay rights and showing gay characters on TV positively in recent years. It is still difficult to decide to come out the closet without the possibly of being verbally or physically harmed. This is far less likely to happen to a black person because it is easier to identify a hate crime due to race rather than sexual orientation. Also, the movement to accept black people has gone on far longer.
I have observed that even though people's treatment towards blacks is far different from 40 years ago, racism is still prevalent. The only difference is that it is more subtle such as people segregating themselves to only having friends of one race. People automatically assuming that blacks are criminals, people to be afraid of, violent, uneducated and poor. Some white women act as if they're scared of black by clutching their purses. There isn't much change with the attitudes towards black people in recent years. Less people are racist than they were decades ago though.
As for Christians, I don't think so. The majority of the nation is Christian, I don't see how there would be prejudice unless people were making fun of religious zealots or non-believers having very strong opinions that go too far sometimes.

Fear creates hypocrisy. I believe that the majority of people DO realize that they shouldn't blame the entire race or religion for the actions of a few, however it's much easier to simply say "Damn those Muslims" rather than "Damn those brain-washed Al Qaeda mostly middle-eastern people!" A lot of people however, are of course, ignorant and generalize too much. Everyone generalizes because generalizing works, stereotypes are mostly true, that's why they get to be stereotypes, however this process becomes dangerous when you rudely treat someone a certain way because of predesposed ideas. As for blacks and gays, people don't openly criticize them as widely anymore because both issues have been so exhausted that people have just given up, and also the media today reports more and more about horrible things happening with arabs than they do the issues with blacks and gays. Now, for my personal side. I believe that EVERYONE is racist in some small way. Everyone at times sees stereotypes in action and blames the entire race in their minds, everyone is initially more comfortable with ppl that share the same background as the, and everyone is more accepting of their own culture rather than other cultures because they feel safe there. This is human nature and has been so for thousands of years and will not change. Granted, thankfully, people are much more accepting of other groups than ever before, but there will always be some racism, and this really is not AS bad of a thing as people make it out to be until that racism is taken to a violent or emotionally harmful way. And people are blind for two reasons: their ignorance and stubborness that follows won't let them change their thinking and be wrong. And also, its easier to be blind.

Regrettable racism still exists and probably always will. The difference is now, more people try to be pc about it, so a lot of people hide their feelings. But there are a lot of openminded and fair people out there, so not everyone is racist.
The same goes toward the gays and lesbians. I think you're right to an extent; it's almost more pc to be hateful towards gays than it is towards blacks or whites.

There's still prejudice against Black people because they're actually trying to go back against Brown V. Board Of Education which could desegregate schools again. Besides that, gay people are catching more prejudice because of the whole issue of marriage. Their issue is something that is bothering almost the whole of America so prejudice against them is rising while Black people are still stuck in the same spot, not getting treated better but a little bit worse...

Racism will always exist. It just depends on to what degree.
And I am not talking about just black people.
It exists towards Indians, Asian (killing Sikh people because they happen to wear a turban not even one of the 90 percent of Arabs that want peace)
The same is true of anyone who is radically different.
Can be the victim of ignorance or another word prejudice.
Let go enjoy you life, you deserve

Yes, Racism exists. Racism and homophobia and misogyny and heterosexism and xenophobia and all of those lovely words that are such a part of our consciousness now. It's horrible, but that's the world we live it.
