They do or they would have died out a long time ago. The problem isn't with getting enough help it is bad government.
The government confiscates the supplies and then sells them to the people until they have no more money and then they basically let them starve. Right now the Islamic peoples from the north Africa have invaded into Sudan and durfur. They won't let food or supplies in there. It is genocide. They drop missles into small villages and kill everyone. They want their land and herds and they take the small children to use as sex slaves until they die. They have no regard for human life that is not in their inner circle. They put them into camps and let them starve by keeping people from bringing them food. They just want them to die and so far it is working. They have killed millions.
Even there programs about feeding the children, the government can't even get in there to feed the children.
All boils down to bad corrupt governments. Along with false religion that allows them to think of others as sub-human.
One part of Africa they went in and built schools, hospitals and they had a rebellion and burnt them all down. Civil war

Part of the reason is that many of the leaders of these Third World countries are corrupt or just plain crazy.
Look at North Korea. If we send them humanitarian aid, it could be diverted elsewhere. Kim Jong-il could use humanitarian aid, such as food, as a bargaining chip to keep control over his own population.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't provide aid, but the solutions are more complex than just handing over money. There are many other practical solutions to help reduce poverty. I don't have the time or space to cover them here, but hopefully your question will prompt others to find out what they are.

How dumb are you? how are you able to think of that persons's religious ideals somewhat be sure the state of their u . s .? i'm a spiritual, Pentecostal Christian who practices and states my faith fortunately and boldly, yet you do no longer see me with such a lot of problems. Am I meant to be happy that the people around me are not so religious or something? And the those that are the poorest right here may be the richest in Heaven, I stay in u . s . of america yet I have no desire to be rich or stay the "American Dream". people and different rich international places are blinded by potential of funds, acceptance, and fortune. The Bible says that that's harder for a rich guy to pass into the dominion of God than that's for a camel to pass contained in the direction of the attention of a needle. The promise of peace and justice for Christians isn't fulfilled in the international, it's going to be fulfilled in Heaven. And why do you single out Christianity? Many detrimental places interior the international have completely different religions. i don't comprehend what type of spoiled rich history you come back from, yet money somewhat would not deliver actual happiness. i might elect to stay detrimental and as a beggar in a third international u . s . than be somebody such as you. The Bible says even Jesus washed his disciples ft without shame. A non-religious occasion i grants you too. i'm Puerto Rican, and my relatives comes from an exceedingly detrimental section interior the mountains of the island. there's a music by potential of Tite Curet Alonso pronounced as "Aguita de Ajonjoli", an exceedingly previous music made whilst poverty grew to become into even worse interior the international, and it has a line that declares: Yo vine de los manglares, donde crece l. a. seda, para mi en esos lugares, solo hay felicidad. Translated, he's saying that he comes from the Manglares (an exceedingly detrimental place in Puerto Rico), yet for him (as he sees) in those places, there is merely happiness. This jewelry so actual for me, and you ought to think of roughly it too.

We're pretty deep in our own pile of debt as it is, so I doubt the United States or Australia wants to give two or three billion to every impovershed country in the world.

How can there still be poverty in THIS country? We can't even fix that, never mind saving the rest of the world.

How can there still be poverty in the U.S. or in any other industrialized country. Giving people more doesn't change the underlying attitudes that cause poverty.

there are people in our own county that are living in poverty. Most people normally don't pay any attention. Plus, the US is in serious debt...
Individual people are the ones that can help the most...
