When you rub the inside of yur horses gums and the horse always reacts the way you dont want them to when you put a bit on them they will react to you different......... They will also..... let you put the bit in the mouth without fighting with you to get it in!.........

Great information...it is because they get used to the sensation of something in their mouth other than something to chew.

.i don't know if i would want to put my fingers in a horses mouth especially if they like chewing on bits!but it does make sense to desensitize the horses mouth I'm into desensitizing horses .i train horses and i use all natural techniques

Yes i did know this. Horses open their mouth when you stick your finger on their gums because they want yiou to move your fingers.
