I'm fairly sure it's about the same across the board- gender issues are very complex, but in a simple way, as well.

I'm not really sure but I'd say to be on the safe side that the doctor should be of the same sex as the patient(same for the nurses if there is the possibility of a patient having to disrobe).
While it might not be an issue, it is bound to solve any potential problems.
