Speaking of movies, why don’t people sneak into another movie after they’ve already seen one? After all, it is quite easy to stay in the theater and just go into another movie without showing a ticket? Statistics show that movie goers don’t sneak into movies? What is the economic reason?

Well after sitting for two hours watching a movie most people don't really feel the need to watch another one even if they can save $10. Their live may require attention elsewhere. Also what is the value of the $10 compared to the potential embarrassment of getting caught? Having to tell your friends that you can't return to a theater because you have stolen from them.

Personally I wont steal from the movie industry because I like movies and understand that they need my money to continue to make good movies and also I don't agree with stealing in general since it puts a similar strain on anyone who is trying to be compensated for providing value to my life.

Why don't you shoplift from your local store, becaus ethe reasons are the same? The disutility you get from a bad conscience is greater than the value of what you are taking. With movies, you also get disutility from having your friends think that you are a cheapskate that is more than seeing the second movie is worth.

well the marginal utility of the second movie is less than the first.
