You see lots of silver cars but what about chrome.
Is it because they would be too reflective

I've never seen a chrome car. I think the process requires thicker steel than ordinary sheet metal and would make the car heavy and too BRITTLE.

There are a few few all-stainless-steel cars, however, which are very shiny and startling looking, some 1936 Fords and a 1966 Lincoln Continental four-door convertible.

Don't listen to these guys, its your choice and everybody has different taste. Myself i prefer chrome but working at a body shop I can give you a little advice on this project. First clean the rim you want to paint really good. You probably have simple green at home that'll work as a degreaser. Now I'm not sure if your rims are steel or aluminum but either way 99% of a great paint job is prep. So the better job you do prepping the better the paint well look and hold up. If you have a clean surface you need to rough it up to get the paint to adhere. A red scotch bright pad works great but you could also use 220 sand paper. If painting over bare metal you'll want to use a metal prep adhesion promoting primer, otherwise regular primer well work. The reason we want to primer is we want an even color under our paint and a good strong bond. Next begin painting with several light coats allowing the paint to flash off between coats per the instructions on the can. While painting with a can requires more patiance a great paint job can be acheived! Good luck!

There is a chrome version of the Shelby Cobra available. It's not painted, though. The process is chrome plating.

John Delorean created a gull winged stainless steel car. Never seen an all chrome one tho.

actually reflection wouldn't be the problem.... they have a liquid for that.... it's the paint jobs cost... and whether anyone has thought of it before.... so GOOD LUCK... put a picture of it somewhere, it could become popular
