Nope.
My mother and I never got along as she was drunk all the time. My dad and I are a lot alike but he thinks of art and music as hobbies--not careers, so we fell out of touch when I went to college because music and art are my passion.
I saw them once last year and my mom burst into tears when she saw my piercings and tattoos (thank god I didn't bring my lover home!) and my dad said I was wasting my life with art when I could have been a lawyer or doctor.......I've stopped trying to make amends and moved on with my life.

I agree with G m, the older you get, the more you love and appreciate them. I only have my mom; my dad died of cancer. So, the reality of knowing that at any time, I could lose her, makes the time we spend together that much more important. We don't have to do anything special. We usually just sit around and talk and laugh.

Yes, I wasn't raised to totally ignore my parents so I give them a decent amount of respect and I communicate with them.

My father died when I was young but I have very happy memories of him. My mother is still alive although battling cancer right now, but yes she and I get along fine. I love her dearly.

I'd like to say that I have the chance to be with my Parents,

BUT ... Unfortunately ..

MY siblings and I had to BURY our parents as very young adults -- and yes, we appreciated them, but it has been over a quarter century since they were alive and we miss them.

sometimes
the only times i don't get along with them is when they blame stuff on me and when they get mad at me for something stupid
but then when you really think about it you figure that:
they gave you life
they do so much for you
and
they Love you
