About the Senate. I do not mind who is in charge, and all. But there saying the Democrats are in charge. An I don't want to create controversey. An I might not be good with numbers. But it seems there is more Republicans than Democrats in the Senate. So how do they run the Senate? Thanks for the input.

But what if the Indep. go with the Reps. for some votes. Making it 51/50. Or one Indep. goes with the Dem.'s, and the other Indep. goes with the Rep.'s. Just saying. What happens then? Thanks.

I heard Joey was going to be more Indep. So what happens if it 50/50? Who wins? I mean I am glad for a new direction. Change is good sometimes.

The numbers are actually even...49 Republicans, and 49 Democrats, the 2 remaining members of the senate are Independents. They are saying that the Democrats will 'run' the Senate because those 2 independents consistently vote in favor of the Democratic side.

Actually, in a formal way, there are 49 republicans and 49 Democrats...BUT, there is one independent, and one socialist, and both of them consistently vote democrat. So in essence, democrats have the power. Keep in mind as well, that the independent is Lieberman. He just went from Democrat to independent so he could run for president next term. He knew that he couldn't get the nomination from the Democrats, but totally shares their views.

Right now, there are more Republicans than Democrats,
but after 20 January 2007, there will be more Democrats than Republicans because some of the republicans were not re-elected!!!!!!!

there are (or rather will be in January) 49 Dems, 49 Republicans, and 2 Independents, but the Indies are Dem allies, and have announced that they will caucus with the Dems, so the Dems effectively have a 51-49 majority.
