Before you quit this job, have you asked your employer if there is room for you to advance at your current position, or asked them for more responsibility in your current position, asked to "cross-train" in other departments? If you get (or have gotten) negative responses to these questions, give your notice (at least 10 days) and explain you have found a job with potential for advancement (be sure you have another job before giving notice on this one!)

Well, why not try the truth. Most employers have a desire to find and keep good employees but people that leave and don't tell them the truth make it difficult to improve their business. This employer gave you the opportunity to become part of his business over other people he could have hired. Show him/her the courtesy of being honest. You might find that they are willing to move you to another position or make your job less boring if they know how you feel. If they are not interested in keeping you then you might want you take a close look at what type of employee you are and how you can improve for the future.

Did you know that all you would do is answer the phone all day? When someone is not happy at their job they become depressed.Start looking for another job.If you was not told at the start of the job that you will answer phones all day then you can let your boss know that you did not take the job to answer the phones all day.If you knew but now dont like it then just let the boss know. There might be another job you can do there but start looking for another job A.S.A.P. Your mental health is important and you dont need depression over a job.

You shouldn't worry about your employer. Just give him a prior after you accept an offer. Just say it is a better opportunity for you; your employer should be happy for you.

You don't have to tell him. All he needs to know is that the grass is greener on the other side.

Be honest, tell them you are not challenged and you were offered a better opportunity.
