I am not certain but i think he was talking to him about the fact that Christina beat him in a procedures class after his recovery from brain surgery and then the chief beat her and how great that must have felt. The chief was upset to be compared with an intern.

umh, that wasn't the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy...in fact the latest episode was when Izzie came back to work...where are you watching this from? who's Dr. Webber?

I've watched all the GA episodes and there was never an episode where they went to a wedding.
