First, let's simplify the right side, using the distributive property. That gives you 3g - 3 = 21 - 3g. Then, we can get like terms on each side. Add 3g to each side, giving us 6g - 3 = 21. Then, add 3 to each side, giving you 6g = 24. Divide each side by 6, giving us g = 4.

3g - 3 = 3(7-g) original problem
3g = 3(7-g)+3 add 3 to both sides
3g= 21-3g +3 multiply 3x (7-g)
6g= 21 +3 add 3g to both sides
6g = 24 add 21 to 3
g =4 divide both sides by 6

3g-3=3(7-g)
distribute the 3 after the equal sign to the numbers in parenthises, now you have

3g-3=21-3g
+3g
6g-3=21
.........+3
combine like terms and you end up with

6g=24 now just divide
24 divided by 6 = 4

g=4 Therefore I agree

3g - 3 = 3(7-g).. wouldnt that just give you a number and not being able to solve for g?
