My friend has gotten 13 calls from the same "restricted" phone number in the past 3 days on her cell phone. All she ever hears is is heavy (intended) breathing on the other line. Someone is trying to scare her and it's working. She's really freaking out. We assume its someone from our high school because they never call during school hours. but they've called her as late as 9:30 at night. Is there ANYTHING she can do to trace the call? Isn't this harassment?

Hi there...

Your friend needs to contact the police and file a complaint. The police and subpoena her phone records from her wireless provider. Even if the calls are coming from a restricted number, the call detail record will show the number of the caller.

Hope this helps!

It's most likely a prank, but to be on the safe side tell her to always be with someone is she's walking at night, and to stay clear of parked cars that may have people just sitting in them, I mean if there on a side street or something. And possibly shutting the phone off for a couple of days maybe the person will think she had her phone shut off or even better yet go to the police maybe they can trace the call

That's very strange that they don't block their number when they call you. If it's everday why don't you tell your to change your phone number? I'd call the police and see what you can do. Becareful, you never know this person may be stalking you in real life. Be aware of your surroundings cause you never know. I used to get phonecalls like that too this guy would call at first he never talked and then he would say gross things but it eventually it stopped. Rogers wireless? I'm with rogers and i live in Canada. If you're from Canada and your with bell tell your parents to subscribe to call block. It's *66 and you can block the person from calling you.

First she needs to think about who has her number. Next, stop answering the calls. Maybe even have a man with a deep voice answer the phone. If she stops answering, they won't have as much fun and will stop calling. ONLY answer to phone calls who's number shows up. Also do what the other poster suggested, go to the police.

it is a harassment and you could report it to the police but it is best that you have your friend change that number and tell her to be on low profile. no one else knows that number except you. i hope everything is okay after that.

i had that before calls from a private number, but i just ignored it and it went away.

The first thing you should do is to change the number.

And, have her parents file a police report.
