I would highly recommend you to visit Sarawak. KL and Penang would be good too but is too commercialised and unless you seeking urban adventure. For the real taste of traditions of Malaysia and action adventure, Sarawak is the best choice. Following some activities you can go for while you are there...

1. Go to the MIRI's Mulu Caves - one of the deepest caves in the world today!

2. Also, see for yourself the colourful lifes of the Ibans and Dayaks in long houses. While you are there, remember to find out stories about Headhunters in the past and be fascinated with the traditional Ngajat dance!

3. Not forgeting of course is make a visit to the Cat Musuem in KUCHING.

4. And go to the Bako National Park to catch a glimpse of the famous hornbill bird, and shake hand with the orang utan!

5. Never leave Sarawak without seeing how the locals find and manufacture Bird’s Nest. Is really an eye opener experience to see how Bird's Nest is obtained.

* Seafood is cheap and a lot of variety in Sarawak.
* Shopping complexes are modern as the one in KL and Penang.
* While accomodation expenses are much more affordable as compared to KL and Penang.
* As bonus, you have the option to cross over to Kalimantan Indonesia easily to visit Indonesia cities such as the Pontianak city. Not forgeting of course you can cross over to Brunei and catch a glimpse of the beautiful city of Bandar Seri Begawan.

In summary, Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu would the cities in Sarawak that worth you travel research if you plan to visit Sarawak.

outline complications? Down in JB there are extremely some handbag snatching and different petty robbery happening, everyday vacationer pray bits, yet not something violent. i have felt a touch discord often times with anti-american politics, like after I lost my passport and had to flow to the U. S. embassy even as there replaced into an anti-US rally good outdoors of the embassy, which replaced into many years decrease back. typically i encounter warmth welcomes, and tremendous people although. typically i think safer in Malaysia than I do maximum places contained in the international, even compared to my residing house in California. there's no way in hell i might want to flow outdoors on my own in San Jose, even as I usually am found gallivanting about in Malaysia on my own, no matter if or not that is Ipoh, Penang, KL or perhaps JB. not a issue in step with say, really now to not me, yet I do get stared at extremely many times. after I visit our plant in Ipoh and walk by the try floor, i think like a piece of meat, yet a 6'+ tall blonde hair blue eyed 3pc healthful wearing quai lo(purple haired devil :p) stands proud somewhat.
