I think it is very true. If you try to help others without considering yourself to be human it will not work. A key part of helping someone else is compassion, or putting yourself in their shoes and imagining yourself in that situation. You cannot do that if you consider yourself to be better than they are or "higher". Learning from your mistakes is a key part of life. No toddler has ever strolled around the park the first time they tried to walk. No, everyone falls and stumbles but then you get back up and try again. The human race would not have gotten very far if toddlers in cave-men times gave up on walking because they fell down the very first time. If you do not forgive yourself, then you will carry a massive burden around with you your entire life. Once again realize that you are only human and "errare humanum est" latin for "to error is human" or something like that. Realize that yes, you may have done something wrong, but you did not kill a person (I hope) and are not wounded for life (at least if you forgive yourself you won't be). No one is perfect, we all make mistakes, sometimes more serious than others but that's okay. We learn from those mistakes so we won't do it again and maybe we'll teach others too. No child has ever believed their mother when she told them no to touch a hot pan or the stove because it will burn them, no, of course not, they have to go and touch it to believe it themselves. But from then on and smart person would not go around touching stoves. We realize that the stove is hot and most stoves when on are hot so we don't touch the stoves because we have learned from past experiences that we will get burnt and it will be painful. This is how we learn, by falling and getting up again. As for the last part, "people are not saints and everyone has sinner at least once." Well, tecnecally people do become saints after they die and even then during their life they probably sinner at least once. Depends what you consider a sin though, I mean all people probably caused pain to their mother when they were born, so if you consider that a sin yeah everyone could be considered a sinner but forgive and forget; move on with your life, even if it was a slightly bigger sin that's okay. Live and let live. Live life in the present, don't dwell on the past!

The human condition is growth and to grow we stumble and learn. We all make mistakes and forgiveness is a tool we all need to have, for ourselves and others. Unless we have done something really bad, guilt is a stumbling block to growth.

yes, you do need to be human to understand, which is the best step toward helping. everyone learn from mistakes but i don't neccesarily think everyone forgives themselves. yes people aren't saints technically until they die and emotionally because everyone goes through life....as for the sinning, yes i believe everyone has sinned at least once, even if it's subtle

It is true, but who are you quoting? I hear things like this everyday from people of all walks of life? It's just a good attitude to have & most people I know learn it from their parents while growing up & if not the parents then the church. It doesn't mater which one cause when you get to the basics their all about the same.

It is true. Not only people like us but saints and the so called gods must have also sinned but we are not told about the other side of their life.

If a person who has attained success and perfection in life is asked what is his secret,he might say it is his experience and practice.Again asked ,what did he mean by experience, his reply may be, to make mistake over and over again. This is how one learns.

I have been told this all my life...and I am sure my mom was told the same thing because it is true...except for the part about sin....we ALL fall short of the glory of God every single day....either a sin of omission or/and sin of commission.

Wise words indeed...
Couldn't agree more.
In order to give back to community, you need to 'fix' yourself first.
If one is incapable of doing so, how will you be able to in turn help change another's life?
And yeah, we're all human, we bleed, cry, rejoice; every single one of us have done things we're not proud of.
But that's what life is all 'bout.
It is to help us get past that fear & at the same time to work your way over it (fear) and hopefully getting better at it (accepting our flaws) over time.
