can you track someone down usind their social security number??

I have this friend and I have his social secirity number and I want to track him down but im not even sure if you can do it.. Can I do it?? if so how or where??

Yes, providing he is the only one that has it, and someone hasn't stolen his identity.
You never know with all the ????????'s in our country.
