I have an outie belly button, is it because I am fat?
I am not pregnant.

It has nothing to do with being fat. Some people just have outies.

The truth is that "outies" and "innies" are considered to be hereditary and determined by the shape or strength of the abdominal muscle behind the bellybutton.

No, that's just how it is. Some people have innies, some have outies. I have a friend who is naturally very tiny but she still has an outie.

the belly button is an outie because of the way your umbilical cord was tied off at birth.

no
at birth, when the doctor chops off, well, "removes" the umbelical cord, sometimes the belly button goes inward and sometimes it stays "out"

my baby sis has an outie too ;-)

No but if you normally have an "innie" you may have a small tear in the muscles behind it. see a doc soon for the right answer... Hope it isnt anything serious. Good luck

lmao im 5'2 and small. My bellybutton is an outtie too. No its not abnromal or anything. It just depends how it was tied when you were given birth to. Every person's body grows differently too.

It is genetics or a navel hernia. I had one when i was 5 and need an operation to tuck mine in. My daughter has one too so i think it is in the blood! :)
