Well, I will say there are many factors for this.
But lets keep it simple, we humans generally do things for incentives. Incentives can be of any form, cash, ego - satisfaction and so on.
So the three most important incentives I can think off are:
Satisfaction of voicing myself in Public.
I might be earning a reputation there.
I might be commercial, doing it for money.
