Social responsibility has to come from within. That means from top-down directives from management goals and bottoms-up mechanics from the lowest person on the totem pole. It also has to be promoted, not just once, but on an on-going basis. This means:

1. Top down directives: Have the social responsibilty in the company mission statement or in its directives.

2. Bottoms up mechanics: Install rules that incentivize social responsibility and discourage negative behavior .

3. Promote the culture of social responsibility. Have meetings once a year to talk about it, post notifications on the bulletin boards/intranet, publicize positive behavior, organize events that are socially responsible and educate new hires on its place/methods/benefits.
