Your precise the Les Paul is overpriced, and not the be-all-end-all. you're clever to no longer be so fashionable, there are various super guitars that dont have a headstock that expenses hundreds. I surely have owned many, many guitars and controlled a extensive song shop that bought each little thing Gibson, Fender, ESP, Godin, Ibanez, PRS, Schecter, Hamer, Jackson etc., and it infrequently replaced into the priciest ax that I loved the ultimate. The Ibanez S520S is an concepts-blowing guitar for the money. often super be stressful artwork, skinny speedy neck, lightwieght, pickups are ok warm. the only element i could look into is swapping the electronics, and in case you got it from Guitar middle or Musicians pal, get a professional set-up (your guitar will have an excellent time)

"Cheap" in this case is quite a relative term, because of the fact that Gibson has guitars mostly in the $2000+ dollar range (I think there are a few guitars much less expensive though)
You can try Ebay, where you can find a few USED LPs. You probably won't be able to buy newLPs as cheap as used ones.

Just get one of the EPI's (Epiphone)
They are owned by Gibson.
And pretty good axes.
There is no such thing as a cheap Gibson Les Paul anymore.
Not even at the pawn shops.
I think most are willed now.

Settle for an Epiphone.
Or just check online, Craig's List or the Recycler.com
I was able to buy my American made Sunburst Strat with a Carvin Belair 212 amp for $450 off of some guy on the recycler because he bought all this nice stuff, realized he sucked and needed money to buy computer parts...

Those aren't a cheap guitar, they're really nice and sound great so that's why they're expensive.
Check on e-bay and used musical equipment shops; I've had friends try and the pawnshops actually wanted just as much or more for them.

I can't imagine why people still embrace a guitar that was designed in the 50s and is horribly overpriced.
Just my opinion....

musiciansfriend.com or sam ash music on the web. Sometimes you can email then that you want an item for a lower price and they will work with you if you are ready to buy that item.

to get one cheap you have to buy it from someone who doesn't know what its worth like out of someones estate after they die.Pawn shops and ebayers know what they're worth. You might find one that needs repair and buy it cheap enough to make it worthwhile to have repairs done.
