Nerds... jocks... the popular people. To you, what defines popular from unpopular? What makes a person beautiful? Why is achievement forwned upon by your peers in school, but then people love you for it when you get out?
I don't understand. I'm not only a nerd but nobody thinks I'm pretty. And it hurts... If anybody DID think I was pretty, they'd proably get teased about it till Dooms Day.
This isn't a pity party, this is to get people's opinion of what divides and defines social ranks. And beauty. And if you've ever felt the same.

We humans have a disheartening predilection for categorizing people, behavior, things and ideas into "acceptable" and "unacceptable." No one, not you, not I, not the Pope and certaintly not The President, can be spared this categorizing. There's no way around it. And, as you've pointed out, this categorizing is NOT permanent. Young achievers are ostracised in high school and praised in the business world. The "young and ugly" are relentlessly persued in their 30s for their beauty.

Remember ONE thing throughout ALL of this labelling: The most valuable opinion about you is YOUR opinion about you. Other peoples opinions about you are optional and can be rejected as unreliable.

Your opinion is the HIGHEST and the most TRUSTWORTHY opinon about you that you can find. Cherish it!

It's a superiority game. Through out all of time Man (The human race has gathered in groups to decide who was the strongest, best, smartest, tallest, etc.)

If everyone were in then who would be superior?

Kids are the cruelest and there are many psycholodgical reasons why.

Low self esteem
Abuse at home
They are power seekers who only feel thier worth when they make others feel worthless.

Shine in your own light. It may hurt to stand alone, but in the long run you'll have aquired more character and depth then they will ever know.

I was always fat. Today I am a songwriter. I even auditioned at America's got talent. I've been on Entertainment Tonight and done radio shows as well.

Concentrate on your talents. Use your inner beauty and talents to out shine them all. Develop what's inside you.

If you live by others standards you are never going to truly experience who you are.

Have you ever heard the expression you are unique? There is no one else in the whole world like you?

Now look at these clique groups who insult and tease. Are they unique? Look closely, they are clones.

Are you an assembly line product or an amazingly unique creation all your own?

Please choose the later.

P.S. Do you think your pretty? You are all that matters.

Don't worry I'm in about the same position. I don't know if it's true but my parents tell me college will be a lot better. I think that people will always use labels, though, because some people do have different characteristics from the rest that make them different. If they're good characteristics (yours sound like they are) be proud of them. Don't worry about not being considered pretty either. Most girls I've seen are physically pretty. I actually only ever remember two girls that I actually thought extremely unatractive when I first saw them. And that shouldn't matter much anyway when you get down to it depends on a person's capacity for love.
So settle down and relax, don't get bitter, do what you love.
I find praying to my Lord Jesus, and reading the Bible helps alot.
God Bless

I know what you mean. but how would you get away from labels? even if you wiped the slate clean and started from scratch..labels would start from simple obvious differences and then people would decide to be mean to others and group them or some would get jealous of another group of people and label them or...etc. it's just human nature. a human fault. one day you'll find yourself in a label you're comfortable with like.. married or mother and then you'll not be so upset. what can I say? I had a label like yours once and it's changed..I'm used to it..I just ignore it. 'se la vi'!
