I think even some of the most ignorant questions here should be tolderated because it is a safe, anonymous way to ask. What are other people's thoughts?

Yes, I think it;s great---a lot better than the verbal attacks we were getting before last week....I have no problem answering reasonable questions to curious straights and I'm glad to do it. Tolerate isn't a word that comes to my mind in this area.

Many gay people send out confusing signals. I am straight as they come and have always tried to treat other people with respect. But sometimes it seems to me it is difficult for me to get the respect of gay people. Many of the answers and other posts on this site reflect that same attitude. On the one hand we know that ignorance can lead to misunderstanding and bias. But when someone ask a question here what happens in all too many cases? The askers "ignorance" is ridiculed and villified. The end result being the asker biases based on "ignorance" are reinforced by the very people who claim to be wanting to over come bias and ignorance.

Love it when they are serious, try my best to tolerate the seemingly ignorant. My family is almost all straight (a few are gay/lesbian and a couple are if-fy) and they ask me some pretty dumb questions. Fortunately, they have the benefit of me being able to hear the tone of their voice and know they are not being offensive. So on here, I choose to give all askers the benefit of the doubt and try to answer their questions openly and honestly.

Yes, I love them to death! In fact, I've inadvertently answered a few basher's silly, stupid questions innocently believing them to be extreme ignorance. I'm so proud of them for wanting to find out information, and I always try to give them everything I have in my knowledge in a kind, friendly, informative way.

Even though it gets old, and there are some questions that should be put to rest (like 'Is gay marriage wrong?'- we've heard it a gazillion times and nothing's changed yet!), I still love to do it.

I am straight. And ignorant in many subjects. It is easy to ask in Q&A not because i'm anonymous but because the people who answer are.It is not easy to ask my friends -straight or gay- personal questions.Nobody feels comfortable answering personal questions.Unless he is anonymous.
So ,let's keep asking and answering in good faith.Nothing makes the world better than understanding and respecting each other.

I have no problem with real questions...they are asked and they are answered...unfortunately, many times, the questions sound dumb, but aren't'...these solicit wise-**** remarks from us..not our best foot forward. Unfortunately, we have been barraged with bashing crap here for months and it leaves a bad taste in our mouths. The bashing seems to have quieted down lately...perhaps the basher is on vacation, died (too much to hope for), or has tired of his/her game. Whatever, please be careful when you answer questions..they may be from very young people, or they may be from very ignorant people actually wanting to know things. Knowledge is always a good thing. Good luck

if people are serious/sincere in just wanted to learn, then I have no problem with that at all. I'm all for people expanding their minds/horizons....learning and appreciating the diversity the makes this world interesting.
it's the insulting, bashing and ignorant questions I can't stand.

I don't mind questions that are serious questions, even if they're based on ignorant assumptions.
It's the "questions" that are really just bashing or proselytizing, reworded into the form of a question, that are annoying.

Serious questions are only few and far between...and they would really be appreciated. But for others, we must tolerate as there might be some, who might be wanting to let out something with the advantage of anonymity, otherwise not possible for them to vent out.
