are there any jobs in demand in canada that will help me immigrate to canada?

im living in california and my boyfreind is in canada..
we want to be together without having to result to marriage at this early stage to do so..
are there any 'in demand' jobs i can train for now to improve my chances of immigration under 'skilled worker'
