I have a 93 beretta. I've gone thru at least 20 turn signal flashers in the last month. I belive that there is a bad ground and it's shortin out the flashers. what would be the best way to go about checking this problem?

do you mean you have changed the flasher...the little item that clicks when you turn on the turn signals? That is very odd and yes you are on the right track..

something I would try is...on the drivers side ...open the door...there is a plate on the body where the bottom of the door and the body meets. Remove this...a few screws. under there you will find some wires. these lead to the back of the car. check these wires and if they are worn or bare...then they will cause a short causing your problem

Hope this helps.

A bad ground will not blow a flasher but a shorted out hot wire running to ground will. Check your harness for wear spots and if you can't find a damaged set of wires check the steering column lever switch.

check the turn signal switch I had this problem with my old GP I replaced about 5 turn switches in two weeks then after the last one I had smoke come out of the steering column from the switch contacts arcing. After I replaced the switch every thing was fine.

My friend, you have a short ground.............It could be in the multifuction switch on the steering column. If it isnt, you could have a hot wire grounding out somewhere and you will need to trace the wiring to locate it.
