So students do not get in accidents that can potentially be harmful or fatal. The school is usually liable for the students during school time. They are also less likely to come back to school if they are given the opportunity to leave.

Because teens are likely to get into trouble & the school will be blamed as you are in their care. Many teens have been seriously injured & killed whhile speeding back to school to make their class on time. Some are drinking & smoking pot, doing drugs, etc. & driving.

Because kids leave and don't come back, tendency to get into trouble (driving issues, loitering, etc), increase in smoking and other behaviors.
