What do you mean, "what do you think"???
They are just everyday ppl who happen to have had some traumatic things happen in their life and it's actually called a split!
I AM Bi-Polar, AND I am Borderline- lets just say I had a very tuff childhood.
However I must say this, my Mother too was Bi-Polar.
so there is a chance I got her 'bad' gene, as for the borderline- that come from my trama in early childhood-
I work, have managed to raise 3 children, and if you were too see me walking down the street, you would never even know I Have a sickness.
I have a really good therapist, and MD who work together to get me the right meds-
I was in terrible shape till I finally broke down and went to get help- and I am sooooo glad I did!

My symptoms were:
daily sadness
crying daily,
loneliness
happy one week, sad the next, mania- I am god type thing, and then the I am so low thing.
I hated my self, and everyone else too.
I was a very sad person, always very suspisious, paranoid!
I would stay awake for days and nights, and just keep on going...bla bla bla... anyways, now I am on KLONOPIN, to help me relax and rest at night, celexa- for my depression, and LIMICTAL- for my Bi-Polar-- it is a mood stabilizer.
as stated earlier- there are many famous ppl with bi-polar, and other dysfunctional things in their lives, they either 1- cover it up, and cry inside, or 2- go seek help, and find a true happiness, as I have done.
but its not like we have a desease that if you touch us you will get it too... we just have had different circumstances in our lives, that has worked our minds to 'handle' things in different mode.

all my best to who ever may have bi-polar, or borderline, they are a tuff sickness, but with meds, and the right Doctor and Therapist, you can overcome!

My ex bf's sister had bi-polar. She would be super hyper one moment and crying the next. She didn't even know she had bi-polar when I first met her but I had wondered about it. Then she finally got diagnosed with so it made sense. I knew a lot about her however I didn't get a chance to know her well personally. However I felt I could relate to her in some ways. Since I have depression and anxiety. I felt sorry for her a lot of times because her family was not very understanding of her. Especially her mother who would belittle her. I tried to explain bi-polar to her mother once when it first came about that she had it. I don't think it did much good though. So anyway they are not wacko just people with mental setbacks which many many people have. There are people with bi-polar who can get it under control and lead very normal lives. I don't think that therapy alone can help. I think meds are also needed which can be tricky since not all meds work the same for people.

Sorry the two friends I had who became bi-polar were bad cases. They started out as very intelligent and quirky guys who were creative and fun to be around. Then they got bad and wouldn't stay on meds, both are now wackos living on the edge of society. I talked to both of them at a late point, and my friend was gone in each case replaced with someone who wasn't really there on a level I could have a real conversation with.

But these guys were on the far end of the scale of bi polar.

Bi-polar? Happy one minute and depressed the next.
I suffer from depression and anxiety. It didn't come on suddenly
it was the result of several traumatic events.

I believe people are disturbed mentally and physically and no one can say what is sane.

Go to Webmd.com and look up bipolar disease. It will explain the symptoms and everything you need to know.

Mental illness is the hardest thing to deal with.

If you have a battle with someone over this you have my empathy.

unfortunatly the term "bi-polar" has really negative connotations. so does "borderline personality". i mean, that just sounds scary! its sad. i do know some bi polar people and they are VERY difficult. they are just over reactive women who can be really mean and nasty at times. however, i know lot of people do get treatment. i think you can find out a bit about it on www.mayoclinic.com there is tons of information on it. if you have it, you can get through it as long as you can take all responsibility in your hands and be willing to get through some hard times in trying to get better. things get worse before they get better. there are many famous people who are bi polar. robin williams is one. they can be absolutly amazing when they are in the mania state but when they are down it is baaaaaaaaaad. treatment can and will work if you have the determination and will to make your life better. good luck! and hopefully one day they will come up with a new term. it is also referred to as manic-depressive disorder, which pretty much sounds just as bad. the labels are horrible in psychology, i wish they would make people seem more human instead of labeled as a disorder. frustrating, but just try and move through your feelings and whats in your heart and put the label aside. dont forget about it and research it and try to make your self better. you wont ever regret making your life better.

Of course not. Bi-Polar is just another made up word for something they can prescribe more pills to. It's bullhsit, like 90% of psychiatry. They all know it, but it keeps the pharmacuetical companies in business. Being expressive, moody and talkative is WHAT HUMAN BEINGS ARE, and I'm sick and tired of labels. Influx disease.....unbelievable. They actually call indigestion a disease.....and why? So they can (by law) prescribe drugs for it. Wake up people, you're being duped on a constant basis into thinking something is wrong with you... there isn't. Exercise, eating right and doing healthy hobbies will set you free..... Be yourself and be honest and everything will be okay. I promise. good luck.

People who are Bi-Polar have a mental illness and I consider them as people who have a medical condition. I'm sure there is medication and therapy that can help them that does work.
