Maybe never, Ha, but maybe when you look around and see that you have too much junk and you can't possibly use it all and that you have no space to put anything else. My family are pack rats, we love things, old things, different things, I collect pottery, glasswear, birdhouses, books, old things of interest, cookie jars, animal ceramics....need I go on? So, the past three yrs. I have stopped going to yard sales and the Good Will store unless it's to give them clothing. i have gone if I NEED something. I look there first because it is a good cause and it is cheaper. I just made myself stop. i moved my sister from her home 7 rooms and a 2 car garage, and a basement packed with stuff. I decided then and there not to do this to my children. No way, no how. I am gradually getting rid of some of what I have. As gifts to those I love and if I know they really love something, I give it as a Birthday or Christmas present. Why not? It'll be theirs anyway and I have the joy of them seeing it ang receiving it. Plus, I try to give them something else too. It's just a bonus. So, it is a fun thing to do, it fills time and space and it can make you happy, just don't let it control you, give back and give it away. some of the things I have collected have great value, and I don't want that to go unknown. I put th price I paid on the bottom and what I've see it sell for or in a book for or Antique Roadshow appraised for. that way my children won't give it away when I'm gone. They'll get something for it. Just have fun and stop when it's time to.

It will end with a house full of cats, cluttered to the rafters with other people's discarded belongings. Have you heard about the latest syndrome...hoarding. It all starts with that first thought of "what a bargain!!"Be careful and ask yourself what's really going on in my life.

Tell me about it! I work in a charity shop and get first picking on the stuff that comes in, I am spending far too much! "Ooh, thats nice, I would like it" I have just got an electrical Dracula, a silly looking plastic vampire that plays "Thriller" and moonwalks while gnashing its fangs. Absolutely no use whatsoever, but I had to have it.
"Don't be afraid...."

There's nothing wrong with a good bargain, but can YOU use it?

One man's trash is another man's treasure surely holds true. There are bargains everywhere, everyday.

Stop now, before it is too late. I am a hoarder. When I die, my family will have to hire an army to sort through all of my `treasures`.They will probably have to hire the Royal Albert Hall to hold the`boot` sale!

I have absolutely no idea what you're going on about. What's wrong with second hand shops?

Come back when you've formulated a proper question with correct punctuation.

Why would it need to end?
Unless you are compulsively buying things you don't need
Then it is just a matter of setting limits for yourself..
