I have a half dozen stuffed animals that smell a little unfresh what's the best way to correct this?

Use febreze or put them in the dryer with a dryer sheet & on fluff air setting.

Or spray them with plain white vinegar & then let dry.'

I wouldn't use the carpet deoderizer (even though it smells really nice!), especially if there's any chance a baby or toddler might put the stuffed animal in their mouth.

I would get a really nice smelling dryer sheet, put it and the stuffed animals in a big pillowcase, tie it closed with a piece of ribbon or string (not a rubberband), and plop it in the dryer, on a low setting, for about 10 minutes.

If the musty smell is caused by mold or mildew, however, nothing but bleach is going to kill those stinky spores - and since you can't wash stuffed animals with bleach (or with much of anything, for that matter), you may have to consider getting rid of them and getting some new ones. Stuffed animals hold an enormous amount of dust and dust mites, so, it may be a good idea to chuck these fuzzy guys now, anyway (be strong).

Ummm wow! You want to try carpet deodorizer on stuffed animals? Well good luck with that because I don't see how you'll be able to vacuum it off! lol go buy some Febrize its in a blue clear bottle in the cleaning lane.

I probably wouldn't unless they were washable first. There could be mites or bug eggs or mildew or whatever down in the fibers. Stuffed animals are super cheap so I just don't think I would do it. Now most anything non plush would certainly be OK.

I've tried this: put the stuffies in a big plastic bag and pour in some baking soda. Tumble them around for a bit each day for 3 or 4 days. After that, open the bag and shake them out. I vacuum them too. No chemicals and it costs very little.

Throw them in the dryer on low temp setting with a nice smelling dryer sheet.

Depending on their materials, Frebreeze and a short run in the dryer on a low heat, or Dryel home dry cleaning agent. (Sold in the detergent isle)

It might take several attempts to get it all out.

Here's one tip: Tie the toys in a pillowcase before putting them in the washer.
