For instance, it looks like its easier for me to ask questions/seek advice on yahoo answers than to an actual friend. Its like most people nowadays are mostly concerned with themselves and no one wants to listen. Does anyone agree???

Definitely. Does the question pertain to them or something they are going through?

People you know are biast. You ask a question and their answer comes from either well meaning advice, what they think you want to hear or something off the top of thier head just to get rid of you.

A stranger is indifferent to you. He/she is not personally involved.

I have to agree with you. First of all, there is the anonymity card on Yahoo answers. Secondly, strangers can be more open with each other as there is nothing at stake in terms of losing friends or family. And thirdly, you are right- too many people are too into themselves nowadays to bother with others.

Nope. It's the judgment factor. We don't want to be judged by friends, people whom we see every single day. We don't even know these strangers, so we don't give a f*ck if they criticize us or not. It's always easier to do something when you've got a mask on.

Some questions can't be answered by people we know. That or we already know their answer. Many people who ask questions here are looking for opinions. If you live in a small house hold you can only get so many opinions can't you?

Probably, the people you know know exactly where it hurts, and when they are angry with you they know exactly where to hit, and it hurts more. Unfortunately, our society became very individualistic. It is not that much "we the people.." any more. We are becoming a society of "I's. It is so sad.

i pretty much agree, but sometimes we dont want our friends to know certain things about us,because of what they might think or feel abouy us afterwards.and u know sometimes we just run into someone that just has the right words that we needed to here.....even if we wanted to hear it or not

if you ask a friend for advise and don't take it, it huts their feelings or makes them mad, or they can see how dumb you are. A stranger will never know.
