Yes, it's true. You bleed bcuz there's a thin layer of skin called a hymen that encloses the entrance to the uterus and when you have sex for the first time *Lose Virginity* the Hymen breaks/tears which causes bleeding just a bit.

Not all women bleed the first time but most do. The bleeding and pain is cause by the tearing if a layer of tissue that protected the vaginal opening. This layer of tissue is called the hymen. Remember that having sex can cause you to get pregnant and expose you to sexually transmitted diseases so use a condom with spermicide(it kills sperm) and get on birth control pills to minimize your chances of pregnancy and catching STD or AIDS.

I didn't tear my first time... then it made my boyfriend feel bad because he thought he wasn't "big enough" and then started questioning my virginity...
