It is called philanthropy... Making your business look better by being involved in some organizations and donations. Which ones would be logical if i owned a hair/nail/facial salon. Would Habitat for Humanity work, or what would? These could include money, time, or my services.

Habitat for Humanity is an awesome organization. There's also Make A Wish Foundation. ANY philanthropic gesture is lovely. I don't know if you are part of a BRN (Business Referral Network) or not - but very often - everybody in the Network works on some charity together. That way - even though you're a small business - you can make a larger impact with the group.

Blessings!

for a hair/nail/facial salon wouldn't Locks of Love be great!? Im not sure if you have heard of this organization, but people donate hair that is used to make wigs for sick children (children with cancer). Maybe you could donate your services by giving people a fresh new haircut when they decide to donate their hair to this organization!

first join the better business bureau, then chamber commerce in your city, and for helping the community one could contact abused women's shelters and offer hair cuts for clients [free] [ when women are depressed a new hair do will do wonders for the women]
find a beauty school in your area and give them support, [speaking to students, offering them assistance in getting work when licensed...form a scholarship in helping students....etc.
giving free hair cuts to seniors with low income
