* Eliminate “jackrabbit starts.” Accelerate slowly when starting from a dead stop.
* Traveling at 55 mph produces up to 21% better mileage when compared to 65 - 70 mph.
* Maintain momentum everywhere possible. The less inertia your vehicle has to overcome, the less fuel it will use.
* Think ahead when approaching hills. If you accelerate, do it gently before you reach the hill, not while you're on it.
* Avoid prolonged warming up of engine, even on cold mornings—30 to 45 seconds is plenty of time.
* Don't start and stop engine needlessly. Idling your engine for one minute consumes the same amount of gas as when you start the engine.
* Regular tune-ups ensure the best fuel economy; check your owner's manual for recommended maintenance intervals. Special attention should be given to maintaining clean air filters and proper tire pressures.
* Inflate all tires to the manufacturer’s recommendations for the vehicle; rolling resistance created by low tire pressure can reduce mileage as much as 25%.
* Running your vehicle’s air conditioner can reduce fuel economy by 10% to 20%.
* Remove excess weight - it reduces mileage, especially when driving up inclines.

Don't switch to low pressure injectors - you'll screw the computer. Just make sure that maintenance is done regularly (plugs, air filter - a big impact on consumption), and drive conservatively: don't accelerate like you're trying for the miracle mile and slow down instead of doing hard stops... There are a few PCM upgrades that might help, but I recommend it only if the warranty is out, as a PCM upgrade may void it.
For the rest, there are no miracle solutions - Car & Driver / Road&Track / PM tried them all and they were mostly bogus.

Sorry to tell you this but tell you this, tell your friend, he doesn't know much about cars...lol....But don't mess with the injectors, just keep the air filter clean the air in the tires at good PSI and also a small thing you can do is get flow masters on the truck so it can breath better, a Lil gas mileage.

use less throttle, avoid racing, drive smoothly! as though you have a passenger who has a full cup of hot coffee, draft a larger vehicle when ever possible, or get a smaller truck like a small import diesel. I have an '86 Nisan diesel p-truck and I get 50 to the gallon. low pressure injectors will only lean out your motor causing you to burn up the motor.

If you go to low pressure injectors you must also go to low pressure fuel pump and pressure regulator-any changes to vehicle you should check with dealer first to see if it effects warranty - i found the best things to change for fuel miliage 1. cat back performance exhaust 2. cold air intake 3. if engine has mechanical fan replace with electric fan. run 2 to 4 lbs higher air pressure in all tires check out my website at http://rustysauto.freewebpage.org/

Dont go screwing around expermenting with the engine, Just keep you foot out of the gas tank, remember, you have a 4.6 Triton V8, a engine that requires a certain amount of fuel to perform properly.

If you take and put a larger intake system on your truck for the air, and put a larger exhaust system on your truck,(straight pipe it) you will increase your fuel millage and your power to your truck. I'm guessing that your truck has a 2 inch to a 2 and three quarter exhaust pipe. so if you make it 3 inches to 4 inches it will make it easier for your truck to push the exhaust out. Combine that with a larger intake system, you will increase your gas millage and boost your power. I have a buddy that took his 2003 dodge cummins 3/4 ton truck and did that, he got some where between 10 to 30 miles per a gallon better than when they first had it, and they had gained between 30 to 75 horse power.
