i have aol wireless but it is currently being run through cables how do i set it up as wireless. i dont know if my computer has wireless caperbility i have been told i need a network adaptor, it looks like a bluetooth dongle am i right, or can i use a bluetooth dongle? how dose wireless internet work is it like bluetooth?

You will need two pieces of hardware to connect your PC worlessly. The first is a wireless router. It is what sends out the wireless signal (which is a radio wave). The other is a wireless receiver in the computer. If your computer is a desktop, you probably do not have a wireless receiver card in it. If it is a laptop, it might. Check the documentation.

To use, you would connect your cable modem to the port on the back of the router. It will then send a signal for the computer to pick. Go with the 802.11G standard when purchasing the hardware.

Wireless receivers come in several styles. There are ones that fit inside a desktop. There are ones that fit in the laptops PC card slot. There are one that attach by a USB cable. (They are NOT bluetooth). Pick whatever will fit your computer. (USB will fit anything and can be moved from computer to computer)

Note that wireless is SLOWER then a cable (less than half the speed at best). So unless you have a real reason or need to go wireless, don't.
