You can have your anti abortion and anti gay laws but you'll have to wear a burka and you'll have to kiss bacon and beef good-bye. Or do you believe YOU are the only one who has that right?

This is not a democracy. It is a democratic-republic.

The individual's will is subordinate. The individual gets one vote.

It is the right of individuals to assemble. And organize. And support legislation.

Freedom of speech is the right of every American, even people with whom you disagree.

Unfortunately some people just don't understand we don't need a law for everything In fact i would love to see congress repeal and undo all the damage Bush Co. (a subsidiary of Evil Karl Inc.) has done get us to a point where things are good again and then not make ANY laws unless we really need it. I think it is a farce some of the crap that is done to justify their big salaries maybe we're paying them to be there to keep things okay for America, it's like when I was a kid if the TV was coming in Good my step-father would fiddle with it to make it come in "better".....we always wound up having to call the TV repair guy. If it ain't broke leave it alone.

ALL laws are legislated morality. Morality is defined as "conformity to the rules of right conduct."

John Witherspoon, a signer of the Declaration of Independence wrote: "Consider all morality in general is conformity to a law."

Laws against murder, rape, stealing, child pornography, kidnaping, etc. are all laws that are legislating morality. These laws forbid people to murder, rape, steal, exploit children, kidnap, etc.

Can you legislate morality? Of course you can. Our laws legislate morality every day. The question is not if morality can be legislated but whose morality will be legislated?

How would you feel if my morality told me to steal your car?

LMHO @ David C.
Yes! No abortion, no gay marriage, and bacon and beef for all!
I wave my scepter and grant these things.
Now, when you are finished kissing David C.'s ring, bow and scrape, and then you may leave the throne room.

Silly question. Of course it is.
The entire legal system is based on imposing a moral standard on the rest of society.

Is rape immoral?
Is stealing immoral?
Is murder immoral?
Is it immoral to discriminate against black people?
Is it immoral to discriminate against gay people?
Get my point?

This is just a lame argument used by those who don't want to bow down to anyone elses morals, but they still want THEIR morals to be law.

what do you think the democrats/liberals have been doing for the past years with liberal judges making laws through the courts, instead of letting the American public decide by voting the way it should be.

Well, if I WERE the only one who had that right, things would be a lot more normal. And there'd be chicken in every pot.
