Just tell me in your own words what good music is.
Rock is my favorite. I like the bass pumping. Rockking guitars a drums and some kick *** vocals. My favorite band is deftones bc they slow it up then rock out. I like that mix

Good music is anything that appeals to a particular person. It is a relative measure!
For me; The Cruxshadows, VNV Nation, The Covenant, Marilyn Manson, Pink Floyd, basically all rock with some exceptions, and all classical are good music. But thats my personal opinion on what suits ME.
And for ME, bad music is rap and jazz.

I completely agree with you. Good music to me is anything that comes from the heart. It should be written by the band or artist, not some songwriter that helps lameos like Brittany Spears or NSYNC. It should have a good beat and the lyrics should make you think or maybe even apply to the audiences' life. Some of the greatest bands to me, like Green Day and Staind, have helped people out in their own lives. Just a few years ago, 3 Doors Down help me through one of the toughest times in my life.

Ok - I'm obviously older than you are since I never heard of the group you mention. Rock and roll will never die as an old song of my generation says. Top criteria though - you have to be able to understand the lyrics. That's the problem with so much of today's music - hard to understand the lyrics!! And you don't even want me to get started on rap which really isn't music in the first place. Rock on!!!!

yea i definitly agree with u. If u like the slow-to-fast stuff u should really check out some of AFI's newer stuff especially on Sing The Sorrow and Decemberunderground

kay im not trying to discriminate or anything-but can rap even be considered MUSIC? its just a beat, and like a poem. so its like a different kind of art form. alternative, like fall out boy, red hot chili peppers, etc. p!atd too.....
