Wear something comfortable and tell them if asked , clothes that they are not accustomed to seeing you in will be a give away to them anyways. Congratulations to you and your husband. Money doesn't grow on trees I know perhaps look for local second hand maternity shops. I'm sure much of the clothing may be in like new condition and save yourself a few bucks to spend on other items. Good luck !

First of all Congratulations!
hmmm...2 more weeks until Thanksgiving will make you 9 1/2 weeks and I would imagine that there will be a "pooch". You can try and hide it, but I would just about bet that your mom or grandma will be able to see it in your eyes or by the "glow" in your face.
I can understand you wanting to wait until the 1st trimester is over to tell anyone, but being a mom myself I can also understand how exciting of a time it will be for your family if you "spill the beans" so to speak at this great family holiday.
As for maternity clothes, my suggestion is to get something with an elastic or adjustable type waist. I know that there are some great styles available now. See if you can find a loose fitting top, that is maybe not necessarily maternity but bigger around the middle, maybe even just try a size larger than your regular size. These slightly larger clothes you can wear for a couple months until your belly is really large. Plus you could wear them after the baby is born while waiting for all the baby weight to come off.
You will be wearing these same clothes a lot and you will be wanting something new around month 7-8 anyway, believe me, I know!
Good Luck!

Even though you're really skinny that doesn't mean you're going to stick out like a sore thumb. Odds are right now you're retaining water and it's making you feel like you're bigger, and it will make your jeans not fit so well anymore. Your uterus is still way down inside your pelvis, so between water retention and just being bloated from hormones, odds are you're a little bigger around the waste than normal. The good news is, it should go away here in the coming weeks. I'm 11 weeks and when I was at your stage I swore I was showing and I was really depressed to think about maternity clothes so soon, but now I'm slowly starting to rule out jeans and maternity clothes are in my near future. So, before you run out and shop till you drop, try to wait a few weeks and see what happens, you might be surprised to find that the jeans that don't fit right now, will in a week or two.

Most people don't normally show until their 2nd trimester. I didn't have to wear maternity clothes until I was 4 1/2 months along with twins. I think you'll be good. I didn't buy it until I needed it b/c I didn't know what size to get with twins. At the maternity store you will buy the same size you where now. For example, if you are a size 8, you will still buy a size 8 in maternity. Hope that helps!

Are you starting to show already? If you are that skinny people might notice a small bump but I think it's too early for maternity clothes. You could always buy larger pair of jeans, and some bigger shirts until you are ready for maternity clothes.

Well, don't say anything and if someone asks tell them either you are or try to hide it and just say you're bloated or something if you really don't want to tell. As far as maternity clothes..I showed really early with my current pregnacy and had to buy maternity clothes super early. I've had to sell some of them via ebay and buy new ones because I outgrew them. It stinks esp because maternity clothes can get expensive. But make sure you are comfortable. Don't wear clothes that are super tight and make you uncomfortable..you'll be uncomfortable enough later in your pregnancy haha. Best of luck and congrats on your pregnancy!!

Go ahead and buy maternity clothes because were those jeans that are tight is not good for your baby. It could possibly harm the baby. Just go ahead and tell the closest of family and the people that don't see you that often may not even notice.

It depends, some thin people show and some don't. If you can wear sweatpants to work then just buy a few pairs of sweatpants/ most maternity clothes stretch so you really wouldn't be wasting money.

Buy maternity clothes as soon as your regular clothes become uncomfortable. As for showing, everyone is different. Wear something that is a bit baggy for the supper and you should be fine. Pregnant women usually bloat at first and then show somewhere around 4 months.

You should be fine with the Thanksgiving dinner as long as you don't wear anything super super tight. Just but the maternity clothes as you need them. Good Luck!!!
