Will most likely have to go to the shop. One thing that can cause this on ones with higher mileage is the speed sensors on the wheels. They tell the computer the exact speed of each wheel and that data is what the computer uses to determine if one wheel is slipping more than others and applies or removes power to that wheel and others accordingly. Should it fail to get a continual signal from any of the sensors it realizes that it can't make an "informed" decision and goes into default mode, which is standard drive and not full time 4wd. Unless you do your own work and have some electrical meters, etc. best to let a shop diagnose this one. If it is under warranty then definitely need to for sure. Of course the switch could be bad as well that you use to switch from one mode to another, but that also would require testing the switch and circuits. If you want you can check fuses before taking it in, but most time if any are blown they are blown for a reason and repairs are in order.

The worst part of this particular repair is the speed sensors are not serviceable. You have to buy the whole wheel bearing. But you may find the plug disconnected...

Best of luck!
