Hey there.

Congrats on your new addition!! Being a mom is an amazing experience...enjoy it while you can. : )

Being a new mom myself I went through this. Your local children's hospital should have a "question" line that you can call and connect directly to a nurse. This number should be printed in your phone book and if not call the hospital info desk and they can direct in the right direction. Also, if you have a great pediatirican his office should have an after hours number that they can be reached at in an emergency or another dr on call.

Other then that...I dont think there are any general 1800 numbers you can call to get answers regarding "health concerns" I know there are numbers on the back of formula, baby food, websites having to do with...that ask you to call with any questions/concerns/comments. But I am fairly sure that has more to do with directly relating to the product more then a "is this normal" question.

The web is a plethera of information. babycenter.com has great advice. : )

Good luck with your little one and congrats again!!

OH MY !! I just thought about it!! Sometimes your insurance might have a number where you can connect to a nurse. For free. I know HUMANA and ANTHEM both do. Call your benifits dept and ask. : )

Also - l was looking on the net and came across this website...

Your health insurance company may have a hotline, you can go on their website and find out.

Also, your mom or mother-in-law would be good people to talke to about your concerns, it will make them feel special to be included. Even though a lot of things have changed baby health, some things haven't. The best thing that hasn't changed is using your intuition.

A lot of the time your pediatrician's office will have one of the doctor's on call. When you call their number there should be an option to do so. If not, I believe you can also call your local hospital.

your babys Dr should have an answering service which will put you in touch with them, or have them call you back. Don't feel bad about calling, they do it for a living and are used to getting calls from worried mothers and fathers
