I don't think they are bad for your eyes if you need glasses and you already wear contacts to see without problems. If you don't need glasses it is advised to not wear contacts for fashion sake as they tend to block oxygen from your eyes and could cause other problems like corneal abraisions or infections. (Not worth the risk for fashions sake). If you already use contacts and are having no problem then the fact that they are colored ones would have no effect.

I don't exactly agree with Hillary (1st answer). I wear prescription contacts. If you want colored contacts that only change the color of your eyes you should just go to any reputable place of business. Lenscrafters or your own eye doctor would be just fine. As long as you follow the doctor's instructions you will be fine. The doctor will have you put the colored contacts on & then look at your eyes through their microscope to make sure the contacts fit properly. You do not want them so tight on your eyes that they don't move a little when you blink (some people have astigmatisms, which means your eye is not perfectly round, there are certain contacts for that, another reason to get them from a doctor.). Also, sleeping in contacts is not a good idea, because your eyes need oxygen. I have seen news stories where people buy colored contacts on the "streets". That would be a bad idea b/c those people are not professionals. As long as you go through an eye doctor & follow the proper care & cleaning instructions there is no danger in wearing them. Give it a try, they can be a fun accessory.

No, as long as you get them from an Optometrist! They must be the right diameter for your eye. :)
