I think that Snoop Dogg has great skills and I couldn't agree with you more that he DID learn from the very BEST - Tupac. However, I personally think that Eminem is more talented in that his lyrics and rhymes are constructed in a way that can't be compared. He raps not only about sex and drugs, but he also hits on topics that many others have completely neglected such as politics, society, and relationships. But, to compare Snoop and Eminem is like comparing apples and oranges - they are two very talented rappers who go at it in completely different directions. And who can argue that absolutely NO ONE compares to Tupac? But, ultimately, if I had to choose my favorite rapper alive, I would pick Eminem.

I think Lupe Fiasco is on his way to being the best rapper alive. Many have commented that he's bringing real hip hop back; rapping about things that actually matter, instead of money, drugs, and sex.
I'm not dissing Snoop because he's one of my absolute favorites, I just disagree that he is the best rapper alive.

I don't believe there can be a "best rapper alive", based upon these bits of information: 1) they all sound the same 2) rap music is lousy 3) not a single rap "artist" has even one iota of original thought.

Hmmmm, kind of hard to say. He is Great, but I'd him in the top 5 with Biggie, Tupac, Jay Z, & LL Cool J.
The best...I have to go with LL. He's been around forever, his lyrics are always changing, he knows how to keep up with the times, & has evolved time & time again.

Contradiction, there is no best rapper alive. Rap is horrible, it sucks. Rap is almost innaudible, therefor all rappers suck.
