what kinds of plants do u have?
im sort of a plant person:
Palms: thay need moderate amounts of water, and moderate to high light, but if they are inside, you HAVE to wash the leaves or else lil red spider mites will live on the leaves, spread to other plants and kill your palms, (plus, it looks ugly.....)
cactus (if they are tropical, i think they are.......), anyway need little water (i water mine once a month) and high light
Draceanas ( large plants that the leaves grow from the middle) need quite a lot of water, and quite a lot of light.
tropical plants (in general) need misting
NOT african violets though, water kills the leaves.
just water your plants until you see water coming out the bottom of the pot into the tray (if there is one)
plants with a woody stem (i know, but it was the only word i could think of to describe these plants) like Scheffleras cant have sitting water at their roots because the stems will rot (the roots too...but anyway)
hope it helps
p.s. i also live in russia (moskva) and so im not exactly sure where you live so i cannot say exactly where to put your plants because if you live in a tropical part of the world (russia is not, by any strech of the imagination, tropical) than you might be able to put them outside.

Tropical Plants can be tricky. They need some humidity and sometimes special fertilizing. Most garden centers can advise you or just get on the net and look for Care of Tropical Plants. Also go to Library. There is a wealth of information on the Intrnet. Hope this helps.

Could you be a bit more specific? Different plants require different cultural practices.
If you have pictures, you can send them to me at jaycubb@yahoo.com, and I'll try to help you out. I'm pretty good at this stuff. At any given time, we have 300-400 plants in the house and greenhouse.

Most tropicals like morning sun, afternoon shade if they are outside plants. Depends on where you live. I am in Louisiana, and I leave my tropicals (except for my plumeria) outside in the winter. If you could post pictures, I could probably ID them.

i also do not know quite what you have --- but the bottom line is with tropical plants ; is that they thrive on humidity --- and there is plenty of pruning , pest control , and who knows !!!
you need to word yourself up as to what you have inherited ( go to a library and get info ) otherwise you may have got yourself a large tropical nightmare . good luck .
