I'm only 28 weeks pregnant and the past week I've been having what seem to be a lot of braxton hicks. The one time I timed them for about a half and hour and they were 2-3 minutes apart..but then I layed down to take a nap and finally fell asleep. When I woke up I wasn't having them that often. Sometimes I'll get them a few times an hour and then for a few hours I won't notice them. Is this normal at this stage. I didnt have this with my first baby. I'm not really having anything else but some lower back pain on occasion. Thanks in advance.
Oh and if you don't have anything productive to say or something nasty or stupid to say then go answer someone else's question. I only want answers from people who can truly offer some advice or who can make decent comments.

Hiya. I posted a question on here 4 days ago wondering the same thing. I am 17 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing them already :(
The answers i got were great (although only 3) of women experiencing the same, just a little later on.
With my first baby i experienced them at 28 weeks and had my healthy baby girl right on her due date through normal delivery.
This pregnancy is more of a worry. I have had complications from the start. I asked the specialist why i am having these uterine activities so early and she said that it seems stress induced and i need to drink plenty of water as dehydration can cause them.
Please dont worry about them but please, please mention them to your midwife/doctor so they are aware. Stress isnt helping to calm them down. You need to chill out and take it easy.
If you experience a radiating back pain stretching round to the front, then i have been told to be aware. Hope this helps x

When my family and friends told me that every pregnancy was different, I didn't notice how true it was....until each of mine came along and I learned for myself. It is common to have Braxton Hicks...to the point where you are frustrated with it! And as long as you aren't having any other problems you will be just fine. I tried a few different things. I took warm showers...NOT HOT! I would also lay down with my feet slightly elevated, and that would help.
The lower back pain....if it comes in spurts and can be timed, that may actually be REAL contractions. I had contractions like that for my first baby. Try timing those and see where you get. Good luck!

hi
it is kinda normal as ive been having them for the 4 weeks and im 30 weeks pregnant, not every pregnancy is the same, if they get to uncomfortable try talkin to ur doctor or midwife as the might be able help i find if i lay on my left side the pain goes away, sometimes it may just be the baby pressing on a nerve in ur lower back, if it starts to go from ur back to ur front ring ur midwife to get checked out
i hope this helps u
good luck and congrats on ur pregnancy
best wishes x

i agree with you on the bottom part sweetie, i hate it when people try to act like as$es on here. anyways i would say that you are experiencing normal things. i had braxton hicks a lot with my first son and none with my second. you may want to call your doctor in the morning just to be safe because your back pains could be labor pains, although highly unlikely since you mentioned nothing else but that back pain. but just to be safe give them a call in the morning. hope this helps, holly

Could it possibly be the baby moving around rather than braxton hicks movent. BH is really just the muscles getting into shape to be able to push during labor. They're uncomfortable, but nothing to be scared of.

Thought I could have had something interesting to offer- but based on your post script- I'll keep it to myself. Who knows maybe you would think it wasn't productive, that it was stupid, or that it didn't really have something to offer....
(a comment like that... is that what you meant?)
Hope your kid has the best of manners- Miss Specific
LOL... thanks for answering something on a question - just so you could say something back. I am usually VERY helpful in answers (lots of best answers). I just think it's pointless for people to feel the need to EXPRESS the desired outcome to answers.
My 2 cents- which I am entitled to- HUH- no disrespect.
HUGS!
