Do you think the show " Everybody loves Raymond " was such a hit because it was a show that most everyone could relate to?

I agree with your first statement. I related to the show because I used to be EXACTLY like Deborah.
Now I wince when i watch the show because I see how horrible I treated others, especially my husband.
Thank God I woke up and grew up.

Yes, there really are a lot of real life interferring mother-in-laws, plus lots of sibling interactions butting into your marriage.

i watched the show sporadically, but i could relate to the wife, espcially her relationship with her mother-in-law.

i enjoyed it. the sarcastic, realistic humor is something everyone can relate to .he spoke his mind and that's what was funny!!
