I'm in a steady relationship now, so I'm not as promiscuous as I used to be. I'm tired of guys I hardly know propositioning me, thinking I'm an easy lay. Because I'm not anymore.

Reputations are hard to out-live. They are a tough thing to shake and it will take time. You're on the right track......by giving up your old ways. I can understand how frustrating it has to be for you now, but in time, people will get the idea. If you're not dating anyone and your staying away from your old crowd, they'll run out of things to talk about. Eventually, a new girl will come along and take up where you left off, and she'll gain the reputation instead of you. Until then, surround yourself with a WHOLE NEW crowd. Find a group that will accept you (YES, I promise there is a group somewhere) a church youth group, the band, the local theater. Branching out and finding new talents and interests will also give you a extra jump on a new reputation. They'll call you "the girl in that one play" instead of "hoe"! And your new foundfriends wont even know the old you so they wont be able to talk. just hang in there and it will get better!

Labels are sometimes those painful tags that our friends or so-called friends attach to our reputations. The facts are labels are achieved. This means we earn them. I'm happy you have become less promiscuous but, unfortunately since not everyone you associate is aware of this, the label will remain with you. There are two options you have though, as to how to make this a little easier to live with, 1) take the advice of the person who answered your question with --kick them in the nads or 2) let your actions speak louder than words by staying committed to the relationship that you are currently in. Eventually, everyone else will get bored with harassing you and they will get the hint in the process that you have definitely changed. And the great thing about this is you won't have to touch them or say a word. The important thing to remember is, every action has a reaction. Good Luck!!

You know what iv'e learned? You can't worry about what people say about you if you worried about every single thing a person said about you, you would end up in a mental institution. You could say you're not a slut, until you turn blue in the face, people are going to think whatever they want to, about you, rather it's true or not. You don't have to justify yourself to nobody, let them talk and say what they want, at least if they're talking about you, they're giving me and somebody else, a break. You being promiscuous at one time, is the only reason why, they think you're slutty and easy. Let them think what they want, if I had a penny for every time somebody talked about me, I'd probably already have that Ferrari, that I dream about, all the time, lol. Don't you dare let anybody bring you down, or make you feel like you're not worthy, of being respected, because you are. There isn't a single person on this earth, male or female, that has lived their lives so well, that they can cast stones, at others, for their wrong doings! You hold your head up high and keep it there, let people say what they want to about you, the only one you have to answer to, is God, nobody else. Just remember, the same people that judge you, will be judged by God and what these people say or think about you, will be nothing, when God gets ahold of them!

There isn't much you can do. Just live your life and forget those losers. I had a bad reputation when I was younger. The only thing was that I had done none of the things I was rumored to have done. Thanks to a girl I thought was my friend, I gained the reputation of being a slut and apparently some guys I had been interested in but had done NOTHING with went around telling people all kinds of stories. I was quite experienced for still being a virgin!! But what could I do? I could deny it all until I was blue in the face and no one would have believed me because it is more fun to believe the dirt. You know you've changed, your significant other seems to know it and is happy. That is all that matters. Let everyone else think what they want. It really doesn't matter. You can't control people...only yourself. So, let them think what they want and you just move forward with your life and your relationship.

First of all you've got to make sure not to get back to old habits. Second reject all the guys that keep propositioning you. Trust me the guys will take the hint. Finally try to keep the relationship that you've got now for awhile, that way people know that your commited and not a promiscuous girl.

Emily keep on being pure, don't take condemnation.

Re-building a reputation takes time, and determination.

Hang in there people will see the change and respect you for it.

Don't be brought down guys who try to tell you that you are a slut, when you know in your heart that you have resolved that.

Make a definite stand under which circumstances you will have sex.

I made my choice for marriage, what ever choice you make be firm and stick to it.

Your opinion matters not any one else's cause you know who you are or aiming to be.

The best thing you can do when someone next makes an indecent proposal is to politely ask them if they want an indecent proposal with the back or your hand or a fist! If you are more passive you could go out wearing a nun's habit.

Kick every guy who asks you in the nads and tell them that you are in a committed relationship! Then kick them again so they'll remember.
