I agree with Welltraveled. Plus I've seen stuff like this before. Not only could they be looking for an excuse to fire you, they could be trying to pressure you out while looking for your replacement. That way, if you quit, they don't have to pay unemployment or worry about lawsuits from firing you. Welcome to the 21st century.
Regardless, update that resume asap and start interviewing for other positions just in case.

Perhaps he continues to track your clerical errors because you're still making them after 1.5 years at your job?
Look, I'm not trying to be mean...but the way the law works with regard to firing people, unless you have an EXTREMELY well-documented case history detailing the problems you've had with an employee, that employee can often sue for "wrongful termination" and win. So employers now routinely keep track of *everything.* It doesn't mean they're going to fire you, if they're smart employers they do it for everyone...in case one day they DO need to let you go, they have documentation to back up their action and lessen the chances of losing a lawsuit.
So don't take it personally -- every well-run company does this.

if you are still making clerical errors after 1 1/2 years, perhaps you need different job, or maybe you should consider proof Reading your work more carefully, they could put into your file to use against you to fire you if they wanted to fire you but didn't have reason to.

1. WellTraveledProg has a great answer.
2. Your question itself provides part of its own answer. For example, it implies that your employer has been "here 1.5 years." It also implies that your employer is performing arithmetic with your clerical errors. Clarity in communication might help you hang onto your next job for 19 months.

I think your working enviroment is stressful and that does not work in clerical jobs. Is your boss breathing down your neck?
Is your boss being a bully? This will cause you to make errors!
Try doing one job at a time until you get confortable to do multi-task. Maybe your boss doesn't know what to do either.

Everyone should keep very detailed records of just about everything anymore. They are just being prepared. You should be too. Start documenting everything that THEY screw up, things they don't take care of properly, that kind of thing. Also, track all those things they put in your file and back yourself up with the reasons and explanations.
Sorry, but it's in their best interest. Your own records are in your best interest, also.

It's all about intimidation. At home he doesn't wear the pants so when he gets to work that's the only place he can tell somebody what to do!
