So what makes you king because it's your birthday? This is the same thing as not going to school on your birthday, or not going to work on your birthday. Or have you always been allowed to take off from school and work on this day? Do you want someone else to wipe your ass on your birthday as well? Just curious. The older you get, the more obligations you have. It's no longer about what you want, it's about what you have to do every day that keeps your life and every one else involved in your life moving. Whether you like it or not, the world does keep on moving, even if it's your birthday. I have a simple solution to this problem. If you really don't want to mow the lawn on your birthday, then mow it the day before. Problem solved.

Happy birthday!
Just tell your partner that today is your day. The lawn can wait until tomorrow.

It depends on how old you are. I have been married for eight years and well, we don't do much for my birthday, maybe dinner. I am 30 this year and if we don't have money, well we don't do anything. That is life, as you grow older, you just go about your day, no big deal and wait, maybe there will be a surprise.

Actually, your PARTNER should be mowing the lawn (and making you dinner, drawing you a bath, giving you space...whatever you want!) on YOUR day!
Birthdays are awesome and should be celebrated for weeks in my book! :)
Cheers to you!

Reading the replies, I see that most of you are a bunch of crying little *******. Who gives a crap about a birthday once you graduate high school. Everyone of you that said, " Lay around, it's your birthday" or whatever, you are worthless.
