The first thing to do is to make sure you're washing in the shade. Another tip, if possible, is to look into softer hose water via a filtration/deionizer. The only other thing you can do is to dry quickly. I would suggest using a quality microfiber towel as opposed to a chamois because they are more absorbent, are usually cheaper, and have taken place of the age-old chamois. Quality (I can't stress it when I say quality) microfibers have become the new standard. Although most higher-end mf towels are only found online, after trying out numerous brands, Target's orange Vroom towels are pretty solid, and fairly priced.

Another item I might recommend would be a California waterblade, but I can't stress enough how it's vital to be sure that all dirt has been removed from the car's surface and that the blade itself is clean. The waterblade makes things a lot easier, but when used irresponsibly, can cause some nasty damage.

Use soft water to rinse it. It is available at the do it yourself car wash places, and there are systems available for purchase that will allow you to make it at home. The spots are caused by the fact that there are minerals, etc. in the tap water. When the water evaporates, it leaves the minerals on your car. Soft water has all (or most) of the minerals removed.

Also if you aren't using soft water, dry your car in the shade, as you will have a better chance of drying it before it spots up.

First, you have to dry it. Dry it properly with a chamois cloth. Once it's washed and clean, start by polishing it and then waxing it good. You will have much less problem drying the spots once you have polished and waxed.

are you at the car wash or at home washing it? If at the car wash use the spot free rinse then chamois it. If at home...there are products at the store which offer this too.
