hydrocodine queston?

if the bottle says best if used by 10/2/03 what would happen if it was taken?

The ingredients become unstable over time and it loses it's effectiveness. Wash it down the sink. Hydrocodone is a pain medication (brand names Vicodin, Lortab)

Probably nothing. Most medications, while not harmful, lose their effectiveness after a period of time. Why would you need to take a medication that is 3 years old anyway? Surely whatever was wrong with you then has either subsided or it would have killed you by now. Hydrocodine is a decongestant, so if you need more, just go get some more.
