FDR or Teddy?

FDR started the New Deal to pull this country out of the Depression. This is the beginnings of government handouts.

Roosevelt was free to do what he wanted for most of his time in office. If the media of today existed back then He would have been impeached. The back room deals with Britain and Russia, not to mention a few deals with Germany put us in a great position to assume world leadership after the war but ruined the American family structure. Many of the entitlement programs He started are still around today. The only problem with them is they will put this country into severe financial problems.
Before the government took over peoples problems they were handled by the expanded families. Before credit cards and massive borrowing the country was running on a cash basis in most areas. People waited to buy things and did not live in debt.
Few people are aware of all the questionable activities Roosevelt had.

You know the interesting thing is that Teddy Roosevelt is now considered a great president. During this time there were calls for impeachment, and the papers were full of slander against him.

When congress wouldn't let him do what he thought needed to be done, he did it anyway. He circumvented laws, found loopholes, used mercenaries, and undertook shady business deals to get what he wanted for the country. And you know what, now looking back on his time in office he is viewed as a great american leader. Can you think of anyone else like that? Only time will tell.

Hopefully you are talking about FDR he helped with our country when we were going into depression,,,To me he was one of our best presidents,,He also came up with alot of work like the ccc`s and the Wpa`s after the depression and all these helped put people back to work. His wife Eleanor Roosevelt wrote alot of his speeches and stood by his side at by his wheelchair. He was the second president to go to see his troops in battle the first one was Lincoln. FDR was a very quiet when it come to talking or making speeches.

FDR was a man of vision. He understood people and society. He helped this country when we needed him most. Because of his concern for us he put in place many of the social programs we know today. Poor people today have more opportunity to better their standard of living because of him. He embodied diplomacy and leadership and remains one of my favorite presidents, along with Thomas Jefferson.
