I'm a scorpio, and if I tell guys/men what my sign is, they kind of act like all scorpio's are the same. I've read that scorpio's are sexy, intimate, and good lovers; but what are the negaive qualities?

The Plus Side

It depends on the type of Scorp you are. There are three decidedly different sorts of Scorpios. The Gray Lizard, The Stinging Scorpion, and the Soaring Eagle. Get Linda Goodman's Sun Signs and read up on them. She nails them to a T. I have known lots of Scorpio's in my life, and have been acquainted with all three types. The Lizard tends to manifest the most negative traits of all three. The Scorpion is an average type, the one you will usually run into, and Eagle's are rare. They are the gems of the group.
Scorpio's have a bad rep because of all those Lizards out there doing heinous things to people who have crossed them. They are the drug abusers who can't seem to find their way past the addictions, whatever they may be. They hold grudges and remember slights, no matter how small. They are extremely vindictive and will go to great lengths to extract revenge. They use sex to get what they want, or withhold it completely. They are sneaks and snoops, and will ferret out information to use it to their advantage. There is no gutter too low for them to crawl into. They represent the seamy underside of humanity. Luckily, true Lizards are few and far between. But be aware of the type so you can avoid them.
You only asked for the negatives of the type, so I won't go into anymore detail.
Definitely get the book. It is the best description of the sign I have yet found.
In my opinion, the main sign which is not intimidated by them is Taurus.

Scorpios are Passionate, which shows there good and bad side.
on the bad side, they can be very vengefull, very hatefull, and that peircing scorpio gaze can see the weaknesses of even the most inpenatrable emotional defenses. they are in sense that small fire that just wont go out.
being on the bad side of a scorpio, could leave you with alot of stings.

very influenced by group energies. (yes, desires depth in relationship and intimacy.) the name reflects negative, shadow side (which all signs have)... here its revenge, attachment, over concern w social status... but remember higher potential... "the phoenix, rising out of ashes". its gift : to not be narrow in what one identifies with.
